If the 5906 looks really nice that price is still a bargain for the quality of the pistol. Yes, LE trade-ins can be found for around $300-350, but add shipping & FFL fees and you are closer. Plus it will have holster wear and who knows how it functions.
Negotiate the best deal you can on it, and be happy you found a very nice one!
