Default K38 lockup

I picked up a K38 with a nice reblue on it a couple of years back , I have checked the lockup and the endshake is ok but there is excessive play in the cylinder when the hammer is pulled back and the trigger pulled and the hammer is half way down. I understand that the power custom over size cylinder stop will not work on the old 5 screw k38.
I have plenty of free time and would like to takle the repair , Can some one point to the correct parts and some directions for install ?
I have taken apart alot of single action revolvers and some other brand double actions , Just have not taken apart a Smith and Wesson yet .
