A nickel MkIII 357 6" in that condition,,that's about the retail on the used gun market, at least around here.

Yes it says Colt, and they were decent revolvers. But a worn nickel finish and 6" bbl aren't the most sought after things on the market.

The MkIII was one of the first to use sintered metal parts for the hammer, trigger and some others. What ever your opinion or experience, the MkIII has that as a bad rap against them. Yes they had some problems with them breaking. Others have experienced none.

The only thing I've ever replaced in a MKIII was trigger return springs.

Colt went back to machined parts in the MkV.

I'd buy it if I could for something less than that if I really needed a knock-about 357. But I wouldn't buy it with any intention of resale at that price.

Just my .02
