There is a difference in the trans!

-The rear differential is not the same as the LX. It has an extra tooth. So you cant swap from a regular crown vic

-The transmission is also slightly different. On a regular crown vic the transmission is a bit shorter and the shaft is a bit longer. About 2in

-Most have oil coolers that will tend to leak. These can be removed and thrown away without a problem

-All on board computers are different and cannot be replaced by one from an LX.

-Break pads are slightly larger on the police cars, prior to 2001

-2004 and up have different rim sizes and computers
