I installed an Apex SD trigger kit in my 9mm SD (not SDVE) and found that I was getting light strikes. No problem with reloads using Federal primers, but getting about 10% misfires using CCI & Wolf primers. Put about 150 rounds thrugh in this configuration.

I measured the striker spring weight at full travel in the slide by pulling back the striker using an RCBS trigger pull gauge, and measured about 3.75 lbs as compared to the factory spring (with about 2000 rounds on it) at about 5.25 lbs. I've put the factory striker spring back in, but left the Apex trigger return spring and firing pin block spring in the gun, this gives me a trigger pull of about 6.25 lbs. Probably 500 rounds in this configuration with no problems and 100% reliability.

I emailed Apex to get their comments, no answer.

Based on my experience I'd say NO to the Apex SD spring kit in your carry gun.
