I am not buying "we can't afford it" argument, the money could easily be found in the **** we really don't need. I am all for retired ,trained,vetted professionals to do it for free. What I don't want is Bubba with a CCW and some camouflage thinking he's trained and equipped to deal with any situation.Not sure how the training differs for soldier vs LEO, substantial in some areas surely.Many would have dual back grounds,But I'm a "Veteran" from Vietnam is not going to be useful in a school setting Unless that is followed up by recent formal subsequent training on tactics and strategy, that's not free.
