Yes, Steve Herrett used to do the same thing. They were good stocks. I almost had him make me a pair back in the late 1970s, but just couldn't scare up the money. I had just graduated from college, which I attended on the GI Bill, while Deb and I were starting our family. There wasn't money enough to spare for custom grips. I now kind of regret not buying them anyway. But I still have all the S&W revolvers I acquired during that time - except the Model 28-2 I gave to my son, and he still has that!
