A true comparison is to the Ruger LC9. I own a Shield 40 and a highly modified LC9, with a Galloway Trigger kit. It still doesn't matter, the Shield's trigger makes it a obvious choice over the LC9. Your comparison would be a SR9c to a M&P 9c. the Shield is a better gun than the LC9. Someone else than owns the SR9c and a M&P 9c can chime in on those guns.
