250 rd boxes of shot shells are(were?) called a 'flat' commonly.
But even that term is giving way to the 250rd box being called a 'case' of shotshells now.
The manufacturers and retailers are selling the shells by the 250rd/ 10bx 'case'.
The old 500rd case isn't packaged much if at all anymore.
Too heavy for the urban homesteaders to lift off the Gander Mtn shelf I guess.
