I too think it is very, very disrespectful to interrupt or talk over another. "Competitive talking" is a good description of my wife's large family...drives me nuts. Over the years I have collected quotes that I like. Two that come to mind that relate to this thread include "The tongue weighs little, but few can hold it," and "A man of words, and not of deeds; is like a garden, full of weeds." The latter quote came off a colonial Powder Horn in a museum, not sure where I picked up the other one. And lastly, being vertically challenged (OK, short), I live by "No tree is too tall for a short dog to lift his leg on.' Has served me well.... Semper Fi
