New or used doesn’t matter as long as it works as it should and the price is good. I got my 3” 686 a few years ago for $550 used. I’d pay that today or higher for it too if it ever got stolen (as I like it that much.) I’ve seen some older used one’s go between $490-600. Best deals today are through private sales or if you can afford to trade a few items (ammo is worth a lot these days) and pay the difference.
