FS: No.2 Old Army - WITHDRAWN
Civil War era No.2 Old Army .32 rimfire #23706, dating from 1864. Matching build number “48” on cylinder, frame, and barrel. Grips (#39724) not numbered to the gun. Butt has the name “Swift” engraved on it. While not perfect, the bore is the cleanest of any black powder gun I have seen, with strong rifling. Nickel plating is flaking, particularly on the right side of the barrel. There appear to be the remnants of silver plating behind the recoil shield on the right side, and on the barrel in front of the cylinder on the left side. I had a jeweler look at the gun under high magnification and he agrees that it may be silver. He offered to test it chemically, but it would mar the gun, so I chose not to do so. $995 includes shipping from Oregon.
This gun doesn't fit my collection - I'm into top-breaks and early hand ejectors. Would consider trading.
