Garrett's holsters are not very thick at all There should be a lot of reviews on their products. They may have modified the Silent Thunder model, but it is the gold standard in leather lined Kydex. That said, 99% of the time I carry my shield in a PJ's Kydex holster. It is paper thin, and is the fastest grab-and go holster I have ever used. My Shield shows virtually no wear from the Kydex at all. Even if it did, I am carrying that firearm to protect me, and my family, so wear marks on the gun mean it is doing it's job.
