You're crazy if you think it's a new idea!

Just remember that due to recoil, re-acquiring the target will be much different with other calibers than with a .22. The muscle memory MIGHT help with anticipation of the first shot, but the resulting motion / force of the shot won't be familiar. The best way to get over any anticipation is to practice with the round you have issues with.

I personally don't train with a .22 to help me with my other calibers.
