This is fun stuff. I should have taken this hobby up years ago!
I'm the same. Only started maybe 5 months ago. Not even because of the shootings and proposed legislation or whatnot. I was just in the store and made an impulse buy since I had been without a job so long and finally had one and was making money. I try to do what you're proposing, and for the most part I see my accuracy improving due to this, but the recoil on a .40 is still hard for me to control. a 9mm? no problem really (well I have noticed a difference from my father's kel tec pf9 to my sd9ve since it's smaller and harder to control).
