Default SPF To 05CarbonDRZ > Shooter Grade S&W "5" Screw Pre-Model 28-2 Needs A Home

By needing a home I mean this gun has a few minor issues that require ownership by someone that has the means to tune it. I purchased this revolver from a fellow forum member some time ago. A day or so after I received it, I took it out to fire it - it worked well and was quite accurate. Shortly after starting to fire it, the trigger began to stick rearwards in both SA and DA. I could see that the side plate had been removed at some time in the past so when I got home, I popped it off to see if there was anything obvious. Not being a gunsmith in any way, I then took it to a local guy who had the sticking fixed two days later. He told me there was a slight bend in one of the internal parts and since he straightened it, the gun seemed to work well again. Off to the range again where I performed another check before shooting it. To my amazement, it now had a hammer pushoff. I called my gunsmith back and he told me to bring it back in and he would just start replacing everything that looked worn. With that, I decided this gun needs to go to someone that can replace whatever it is it needs without driving back and forth to a gunsmith.

This S&W "5" screw, Pre-Model 28-2, was manufactured in 1954. It has all the usual physical markings of a gun that is nearly 60 years old and has been fired quite a bit. To me, and several others that have looked at it, it appears to have been re-blued at some point in time. This may or may not be true however.

I'm selling this gun as seen in the pictures without grips. I'm asking $400.00 + $35.00 (to the lower 48) from my FFL to your FFL. I'd also entertain REASONABLE offers. If you would like additional pictures via e-mail, PM me with your e-mail address. Please also be sure that this gun is legal to own in your area as I'm not up on all the crazy gun laws. As stated, this would make someone that wants to fix it up a great old shooter.
