Not a chance. I answer newbie questions all the time.
1. You can shoot +P in your SD. RTFM.
2. The 20# would be for a 147gr loaded hot with, say, HS6, for example. I don' shoot such in an SD.
3. There is no need to use anything other than the stock recoil rod/spring assembly for any commercial 115/124 gr load that meets SAAMI standards, and that includes +P. (not +P+, which has NO SAAMI standard). Galloway makes fine products, but you don't "need" theirs for stock applications.
Buy a spare stock assembly for $8 and relax. You have to look at the rod/spring every time you clean it anyway.
