Do you have a recommendation for the "insert and hold with your finger" move? Even my little finger doesn't fit inside the frame....

The only thing I can think of is to try to access the magwell from the sides of the grip area of the frame instead of the top. I have done this before and it is possible. Those double stack guns are much easier to work on for this very reason.
