When I had feeding issues (nose of the bullet slamming into the top of the chamber) cleaning the crud out of the magazines seemed to solve the issue. (Could be just coincidence though)

Had to send mine back twice, second time they replaced the barrel and that's also when I started to get the occasional stovepipe and feeding issues. So, I'm not all that surprised that you're having issues after s&w touched it.
