I sent this to my brother who is a veterinarian. He immediately cited the Monty Python badass bunny. Once he got serious he said the only possible reason is that the rabbit thought there was a food source in the tree. I thought about looking in the tree but I'm afraid of what I might find.
I could understand if someone had stuffed a Big Mac in the tree and a dog in the walking park smelled it, but what could a rabbit smell in a fir tree??? BTW, rabbits love sweet potato leaves.
