We are issued the Glock 19 as of todays date. However I was issued the glock 22 when I came on. Im a younger officer but have switched to the 4506 for duty carry. Just to let people know that the number of newer officers looking for a 4506 is getting bigger. Many people that I know have made the switch. Ive enjoyed the switch and wont go back to plastic again. My department is at times puzzled at how much more often newer officers are switching to an all metal gun verses the plastic wonder they fell is better for us to carry. 4506 is still alive and Smith and Wesson needs to realize they are losing money by not producing such a sought after gun.
