I think you made a good choice. I didn't get one (none available at the time I bought any of my M&P's) I've ended up using a Blade Tech holster and mag carrier for both competition and EDC because I liked them the best. Already had an Uplula (got spoiled with the .223 version so buying the pistol one was a no brainer) so I think S&W did their homework on this one. Having the black box might be neat but all my boxes live in a closet with the original papers and unused accessories in them, I don't use them to transport or store pistols (take up too much room in the range bag
