Goering's S&W,
You have the soul of a collector, but in fact, if it has been fired a couple of times, it qualifies as used. While I don't want to suggest that anyone should take a high grade classic and abuse it, but by the same token, I wouldn't hesitate to wax it up really well then carry it concealed in a suitable holster... that's what it was made for. And for those of us who see that Baby Chief as attractive because it is the very smallest production 38 Special ever made... only a little smaller than its successors, but the smallest nonetheless. That may be one of the reasons there is one in my bug out bag! But if "your friend" loves his so much "he" wants to keep in polished and protected in "his" safe, more power to him, and may his numbers increase. That will make really good guns available for somebody's children or grandchildren when he dies... I'm leaving mine well loved but well worn guns mostly!
Best regards,
Froggie
