I have one, purchased a long time ago, but not yet fired (shame on me ) I don't know about the bad reviews, but I know that Bud's reviews it at close to five stars, and that's with a whole bunch of customer reviews. (Higher rated than some of the Colt 1911's. ) My Sigma 9 works great, so I'm guessing the SD40ve will too. Neither one of them is a CZ 75, but that's not what you're paying for.

If it were me, though, I'd pay another 30 bucks for a brand new one from Bud's. Or some such place.
