I second the motion that this thread be made a sticky so that it can be retained for reference by hundreds, even thousands, of Third Gen S&W .22 owners. Well done my friend!

What kind of shape was the crown of the barrel in? The pictures on the auction had one view that made it appear perhaps buggered-up, perhaps through use of an improper barrel-nut tool. How will you address any crown damage?
