Take a good quality 5 gal bucket and pour 2 gallons of vinegar in it uncovered, lock it in the trunk overnight (24 to 48 hours would be better)
should take out most of the fish smell. Don't forget to remove the bucket before driving anywhere or you'll have a mess in the trunk.

Place the bucket wherever the fish were - I assumed in the trunk but if they were inside the car, put the bucket there.
