I was told by a dealer once, "Seriously? You don't much about marks on guns. That star means it belonged to a sheriff!"
When I looked at him, I realized he was in fact serious. I seriously gave him his gun back and seriously walked away.
That mark is a factory rework stamp.
I still think that can be fixed.
