I dont have an 8 shot N frame 357 but a quick check on the net indicates the 8 shot notches do not line up with the flutes,
Kinda makes sense considering the 7 shot shifted the notches in line with the flutes that an 8 shot shifts it over again,
BTW having the notches align with the flutes is supposedly more robust as the stop notch is not cut right above the chamber.
