And if that's the case, would I need to order a left-handed model to draw from behind? I am right-handed for other activities. Any feedback on ease and safety would be much appreciated!
For me personally, it's appendix carry.

Here are my reasons:
1.) I can conceal it very easy with shirt tucked in or out (I can "see" that all is ok and concealed properly)
2.) For me, the most natural draw position
3.) Think about this, let's say someone came up behind you and bear hugged you. Most likely, your arms would be pinned. What would be easier to do, get a pistol in the appendix position or try to reach around your back.?

The item Erich reviewed at the belly to me would be best. My opinion.

The only time I carry at 5 o' clock is when I carry my full size .40
