This thread just made remember the old days. A few months ago when I bought my 642 I remembered I had some ammo in a plastic holder in the garage. I knew it had 38's in it and I wanted to take them to the range with the Critical Defense FTX rounds I bought to try in my new purchase. In it were 200 grain 38's, 158 grain 38's, and 10 were Super Vels. I left the Super Vels home but took the rest to the range. These rounds were at least 44 years old since I bought them when I became a LEO in 1970. They wouldn't let us carry hollow points so most of us carried the 200 grain round. Needless to say all fired like the day I bought them.
