Here's how it works for me (I only assume it s the same in the Rotten Apple):
• I decide to sell a handgun.
• I surrender the gun to the FFL that is shipping it (or buying it).
They give me a bill of sale that says they have the gun now.
• I take the bill of sale to my pistol office and remove the gun from my license.
Nothing is different for the receiving FFL - the buyer does a NICS check and takes possession of the gun.

On your permit, the hand guns listed, are they only the ones you may or intend to carry or every one that you own?
