Two comments:
1. Guns my wife buys for me don't get sold! For example, I have a 6" Highway Patrolman she picked up for me one time when I was out of town on business. It's a "duplicate" in my collection and in lesser condition than my other one. But
it is not going anywhere except the range or the field with me!
2. If your wife bought that one new in 1971, she probably paid around $150 or less for it. In 1969, they were going for somewhere in the $135 range, IIRC. By 1976, retail had gone up to a whopping $167.50, according to my bicentennial
