Absolutely correct! I did a lot of looking but never thought to look up through the magazine area.

It's clear that the finger on the trigger bar is indeed hitting the striker blocker significantly off center. This would account for the side pressure on the trigger bar, and also would cause the striker blocker to be lifted just a bit late, but apparently not late enough to prevent the striker from being released.

On the other hand, there may be guns out there that have had fail to fire events that are caused by this condition. It might be worth while for other owners to look at this area.

About the other cam, it only comes into play during recoil, I assume to cause the "sear" to engage, or clear, the striker lug.

Here I thought I was doing a thorough analysis and never even thought to use that view.
