Para-Ordnance use to make LDA (Light Double Action) 1911 pistols. I have a couple of carry models, one is officers size and single stack, stainless frame and the other is a little longer and double stack alloy frame. I'm don't think they are in current production, but used guns come on the market all the time. Many Paras have fine accuracy, my small gun shot 27 rounds into a 6 or 7 inch group with Federal Hydra-shok 230 grain the first time out of the box, oh yeah the distance was 45 yards.
Several years ago I had 2 Star PD's and before that a BKM. I always thought they were fantastic small semi autos. Early PD's would crack above the slide stop cut out and the stop, without any problem. So later production PD's included a small relief cut at the same spot. The only objection I had on PD's, was they would not accept 1911 mags. They were the first affordable/production carry 45 and worked admirably well. Ivan
