That is a well used 44 Double Action Frontier, with several modifications. These were made from 1886 to 1913, and over 15,000 were made total. Getting an accurate ship date is almost impossible, since these guns were slow movers and would sit in inventory for a long time before selling. I would only estimate that it would most likely been shipped in the early 1890s.

Value is a tough question, with a rough surface, filed front sight, replaced stocks, removed firing pin, and I think a modified standard rear sight as well. If it is not in working condition, it would probably only be worth whatever parts are left to sell. If sold as is, my guess would be $400.
