OK, so I found the #25 is the field holster model and the #2 is group 2 consisting the S&W 38-44, M1926 & 1950 Target, Colt 1917 & New Service, Shooting Master Series. My 38-44 5" fits with room but the 1917 5 1/2" fits perfectly. It's an open bottom and the stitching is uniform and tight and leather rounded at the corner. I don't think it has been shortened. Could it be a miss-stamp?
