Thumbs up Fine pistol marksmanship by that NY State Police sergeant

Interesting follow-up article about the capture of the second escaped murderer in New York State recently.

The sergeant who stopped David Sweat had given chase on foot across an open field after Sweat bolted upon being approached by the officer. According to the article, the sergeant (a firearms instructor) dropped to one knee and, at a distance greater than 50 yards, put two rounds into Sweat with his .45 semi-auto while Sweat was still running toward woods into which the sergeant thought he would probably escape.

That's some mighty fine pistol marksmanship right there. I'm sure the officer had been running hard, yet still had the presence of mind and the skill to hit a moving target twice (out of three rounds, as I recall) and stop a man who would not have hesitated to murder again, I'm sure.

My hat's off to that officer.
