Were you having problems with the stock spring and guide rod?

You are aware that Smith and Wesson take it upon themselves to give you a lifetime warranty on your gun right? If you are using factory ammo and just plain wear out the gun, they'll replace any part that wears out or breaks. Don't change parts as a preventative measure. Shoot the heck out of that gun and if something wears out or breaks because the guide rod or spring was too weak, S&W will replace it.

The SD9VE is made for any type of 9mm ammo within SAAMI specs so you don't have to worry about shooting 115g or 124g. Have fun with the gun and don't overthink it.
