I have no personal knowledge of the true and original Kukris.

For the last few years I have owned and USED a Ka-Bar manufactured Kukri.

As mentioned above a kukri does a fine job of chopping brush and small trees.
I think it is the forward weight that makes it much more efficient than the more common machete.

I suggest keeping yours as a collector item.
If needed; buy a Ka-Bar for chopping.
