Wow. I am amazed how many nice folks are helping me. I posted under KentuckGal and now guess this gun was owned by my great uncle. It is blued and now I want to find out how to get a letter from S&W. If it had been my great grandfather's (who was a policeman in KY, shot on Thursday, died on Saturday), I would have framed it. Uncle traveled the state of KY and was a lumber baron.
