Have both, carry both, although not at the same time. Since most SD encounters are point blank to ten feet, I don't feel intimidated carrying my Model 49 J frame, or overly empowered with my full size M&P. If it ever comes down to crunch time, (God forbid), it'll be up to me to perform. The tool at my disposal will only be as good as I am.
