Default New 1911 for carry

I walked into my LGS looking for a 45 auto to carry. The recent Jihadist attacks got me thinking I want to carry something with a little more capacity and quicker reload than my 6 shot revolvers.

Found this SIG 1911 with rail, brand new. Came with a laser to mount on the rail as well. They call it the 'TACPAC'.

Very smooth gun. Like the Nitron finish (it's like a blue, but without the constant worry about rust and wear). Stipaling on the the grip is awesome.

One question: For those who have railed 1911's, have you had any concern about the rail section developing a crack at the dust cover? There is a sharp relief cut on both sides on the rail, and the material gets rather thin in that area. I know the Marines managed to crack their Colt rail guns in that area...but has anyone had a problem with the SIG rails?
Thanks in advance.

I do love this gun so far.
