You could look at the M-308 or P-308 scopes made by Nikon. They are made specifically for the .308 round and for shorter barreled rifles. The M-308 comes with a one piece, 20 MOA mount. I don't know if the P-308 does or not.

I have both the 800BDC and Nikoplex models on my M&P10 and Mossberg MVP Patrol and I've been very happy with their performance.

Nikon's M-Series scopes and based on their Monarch line and the P-Series on their Prostaff line. The Monarch being the better of the two but Nikon overall makes some pretty good scopes for the money.

Of course, the previous suggestions are good choices as well. Votex and Weaver would be about the same quality class as the Nikon and Leupold would be equal or better depending on which model you pick.
