Stranglehold, great pictures and a great story! Thanks for sharing.

I have posted this before, but it fits well here. This WWI 1911 (made in 1917) is in my family, but not in my possession yet. It will be one day, when my father-in-law decides to "sell" it to me. I will pay him a fair market value for it, but the money will go into an account for my son's education. So it is a win-win for everyone.

The gun is resting on my grandfather's WWI uniform next to his helmet. He certainly would have carried one like it, but this one was not his. I use this picture as the background on my computer. I included his ID and a photo of him, probably in France, just to add more for the history buffs.
