I took this picture when I bought the gun a year ago. I took it to Robin Dietrich to be tricked out for my son, a gift to commemorate his accomplishments in the military. After the work was done the last thing was to have the slide engraved with his unit crest, motto, and his initials, before finishing. The engraver did a horrible job, essentially ruining the slide. When I was trying to find a new replacement slide (good luck, they're like hen's teeth) the Colt Custom Shop offered to fit a new slide, match the work that had already been done, engrave it, and refinish the pistol. It is currently in their hands and should be completed in a couple of months. I'm looking forward to getting it back so I can finally present it to my son, as I had planned to do when he transferred to his new unit back in November. Better late than never!
