I would say most of those small mouse gun rounds are no better now than in the old days. In my opinion, if you one some sort of one-shot super stopping power round, get a .357 Magnum, 10mm/.40, or .45 ACP - loaded with high velocity JHPs. All of these calibers are available in light and compact pistols these days. I'd much rather have 5 .357s over 6-7 .32s any day of the week.
