Sold on Another Forum..1st Gen. Colt Frontier Six Shooter SAA 4 3/4" barrel
Offered for sale is a very nice and original Colt 44/40 with the highly sought after 4 3/4" barrel. Serial No. 148926 on butt, trigger guard & frame indicates 1892 manufacture. The gun has all four clicks, but the hammer doesn't hold on the 3rd click (not sure if it's supposed to...it does hold on the 4th click). Two-line barrel address, "...TER" is the only part of the "FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" that I can read on the barrel. Grips appear original & fit like a glove. The right grip has taken on a brownish cast, as is seen in the pictures. Overall, a really nice (and hard to find at this price point) short barrel Frontier Six Shooter.
$1,250.00 shipped. I don't believe that a license is necessary, since this gun is pre 1900.
