As some of you know, I have a really cherry transitional 22/32 kit gun, serialed in 1940 but shipped post-war in 1951 with mixed pre- and post-war parts. It's one of only 25 with that history, according to Roy Jinks.
At any rate, I recently won at auction, an original S&W shipping box that is absolutely a match for the gun. I was delighted to see my little gun nestled in the box. The box came with original wax wrapping paper and a shooting tips booklet.
Here's a picture of the gun in its box:
There are two identical labels on each end of the box. What appears as a smudge below the "22/32" on the label is actually a stamp that reads "ROUND." This refers to the butt configuration being round rather than square. A perfect match!

Now all I need is a proper sight adjustment tool and cleaning gear - anybody????
