I've been hoping S&W would come out with a shorter barreled version of the 66 and the 69. I have an old 66-3 with a 3" barrel, but I don't want to carry it for fear of it getting used and losing it to the evidence bin. A 2 3/4" barrel will work for me in both the .357 mag. and the .44 mag.
