don't know about "naysayers, including nearly every professional shooting instructor", that seems a bit outlandish. I have seen many whom endorse the .410/.45 revolver as well as ballistics tests that illustrate its lethality. The Judge/Governor originally received poor reviews due to improper choices in ammunition during their conception. Fast forward to 2016 and there are a myriad of potent self defense platform loads available for these revolvers.
